The Lotus Eater 18 SN#028 is built from a 1960s Hammond organ power amp chassis completely converted into an all tube guitar amp. This is a custom hand built circuit with master volume. The amp’s foundation is a Hammond power transformer, output transformer and filter choke. New power supply capacitors, resistors, and coupling capacitors built on Hammond eyelet board.
Amp produces both chime cleans and high gain distortion. Rolling back guitar volume controls amp gain nicely and master volume allows high gain drive at a lower volume. The bass and treble controls are interactive and produce a wide variety of tones for both clean and over driven sounds. The amp sounds excellent as a platform for effect pedals. New filter capacitors, coupling caps, tolerance tested carbon composition 1/2 watt resistors, switchcraft jacks and Alpha pots.
Cathode bias push-pull output section. Rectifier tube 5R4/5U4, 2 x 6BQ5/EL84/7189 output tubes. Many types of preamp tubes 12AX7 (12AU7,12AY7, (12BH7, 12AT7 phase inverter V3 socket) can be used for desired level of gain, output volume and tone.
A note to buyers: The Hammond chassis I build these amps from are becoming scarce and cost is going up so I have to raise selling price to offset the difference. Thanks for your consideration.
